The Incredible Truth: In reality, Taki is Christine Flowers?
The press tells all!

Christine Flowers is the blues singer we’ve been waiting for. We, meaning you, me and everyone who believes in love at first sight. In a series of concerts that remain all too confidential, this American stands out. Her voice is limpid, playful with milky curves making her the most soulful of white singers…
Marie Claire Magazine
A far cry from one of the songbirds hatched in the henhouse of the music business, Christine Flowers- the name itself is drenched in destiny- indisputably and immediately establishes herself as a jazz singer who hasn’t forgotten any of her lessons about the blues. First and foremost, however, she proves her talent as an actress who portrays each song as a story; a film and an emotion.

Abracadabra in Paris! Songs, Shimmies and Laughter: Taki’s secret finally revealed!
Christine Flowers lives her music, fully. She inhabits the lyrics, her body accompanying her emotions and the song’s story. She sings in character: proclaiming, moaning, laughing, sighing, taking on a role for each song. She plays with her audience, without overdoing it, a little like a cat discovering a new playmate, with seduction and restraint.
Citoyen Jazz, Jérôme Gransac
Christine Flowers transports us, thanks to her natural and elegant presence, to a universe that has a perfume of America and a fresh new scent of European sophistication. By turns charmed and captivated, the audience is riveted to Christine’s lips and each number ends with a deluge of applause, as if it had been held back for a long time.

Taki’s Little Secret

Christine Flowers
To create Taki’s unique personality, Christine Flowers draws on her own fascinating life as a performer, experienced yoga practitioner, and adventuress. While still a teenager, she earned the opportunity to perform in Leonard Bernstein’s Mass. Soon after, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she recorded background vocals for Grammy winning country-music artists. Relocating to Europe, Christine studied at several music academies in France.
She subsequently performed at Disneyland Paris, L’Espace Cardin, and Radio France, later producing two independent jazz albums. A former student of the Actor’s Studio, she has lent her voice to American playwrights and musical theatre productions and is a voiceover artist for cartoons, films, and commercials. Through her diverse career, Christine continues to delight audiences with her unfettered wit, expressive playfulness, and exuberant personality.
As a female performer coming of age, she refused to quit when gatekeepers held opportunities out of reach. Rejecting ageism, she dreamt up Taki Watanga, a sassy personality who plays by her own rules. As Taki, she blends decades of entertainment experience, a satirical perspective on camp, and various musical influences to create a playful performance that has audiences wondering what she’ll dish up next.
